Words not necessary....but I wrote some



A different view of an eclipse (yes, yes....transit - so it would seem from this perspective). For the details I send you to my first-click of everyday www.badastronomy.com to read (quite a lot, actually) about this STEREO image. The STEREO module was sent up to study solar flares and from its nestle up in the abyss of space it caught this sight of the moon transiting the sun. Not visible from Earth, this is (possibly) the first transit that we didn't see..that we can see. Makes sense...if you think about it. The sun is imaged from extreme-ultraviolet spectrum so it looks cooler than it normally would (which is of course still mind blowingly cool).
